The conference entitled Educational value and social relevance of Giuseppe Toniolo's work will take place on the morning of Friday 5 April. Ten years of cultural initiatives, organized by the regional and national levels of Fai Cisl, the CISL trade union category that follows workers in the agri-food and environmental sectors. With an educational focus and informative purposes, the event was designed to present the fundamental figure of the sociologist and economist Giuseppe Toniolo to a trade union audience, made up mostly of young delegates and operators, but is aimed at a wider and more general to discuss the themes of the common good, of the social doctrine of the Church and in general of the important generative effect that the thought of the blessed from Treviso has had in the history of the ecclesial and civil community, reaching up to the present day as a high reference and a contribution of important relevance.
In the organization of the conference, the collaboration with is emblematic in this sense the Beato Toniolo Diocesan Institute. The ways of the Saints, which follows and promotes Toniolo's canonization process with various initiatives in the cultural and social fields, beauty and religious tourism.
Among the main themes that the speakers will address on Toniolo, there is in fact the coming together and harmonizing in a single figure of the dual nature of scientist and man on the path to holiness. From the subtitle of the conference we can then deduce the desire to take stock of the path of cultural initiatives carried out by the organizers over the course of a decade, starting from a conference also held in Pieve di Soligo in 2014 and continued with the publication of books and the succession of various moments of presentation, reflection and training. After the institutional greetings and the screening of a video, the event of 5th April will be introduced by Andrea Zanin, general secretary of the Fai Cisl of Veneto. The sociologist Ludovico Ferro, scientific director of the Fai Cisl Studi e Ricerche Foundation, will coordinate the work and will be among the speakers together with the contemporary historian Albero Guasco and the scientific director and vice president of the Beato Toniolo Institute, Marco Zabotti. The second part of the meeting, focused on Toniolo's legacy in the economic and social fields, will take place in the form of a round table with the interventions of Vincenzo Conso, president of the Fai Cisl, Studies and Research Foundation and president of FOR.AGRI, of Carlo Antiga, president of Banca Prealpi SanBiagio, of Lorenzo Brugnera, president of Latteria Soligo and president of Confcooperative Belluno and Treviso, of Raffaella Da Ros, president of the cooperative Insieme Si Pu and of Alessandro Toffoli, president of the “Giuseppe Toniolo” Rural Families Association.
